‘Thala’ Ajith’s film ‘Varalaarau’ directed by K S Ravikumar was a big hit in Tamil. The movie is now being remade in Kannada with Upendrareprising the role of Ajith in a dual role andSimran doing the act of Kanika. A R Rahman, who scored music for ‘Varalaaru’, is going to do the music for its Kannada remake. The Kannada film is titled ‘Godfather’!
The 2006 release Tamil film was also earlier titled ‘Godfather’ but to get the tax concession of the Government of Tamil Nadu the film was titled in Tamil as ‘Varalaaru’. Ajith played father – son dual role and Kanika and Asin paired them respectively. The film was produced by NIC Arts Chakravarthy.
