After making a final touch to the effervescence of the film Nanban, director Shankar hinted that he was thinking of releasing it for Pongal festival. This means that there won’t be internal clash for Vijay films for this Deepavali –Velayutham and this Nanban. The film has a strong cast with Vijay, Jeeva and Sriknath in lead roles along with a guest appearance from SJ Surya.
Vijay essays Aamir Khan while Jiiva and Srikanth will essay the other two roles. Ileana will fit the shoes of Kareena Kapoor. Velayudham, on the other hand, will have Genelia and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles.
Earlier many thought that both Velayudham and Nanban will release on Diwali on the same day. But that is not to be, as Velayudham has won the race and will be released for Diwali while Nanban is pushed to Pongal.
Since Nanban is a bilingual, a few of Vijay’s films like Aadhi will get dubbed and released in Telugu before Nanban is released. This way, Vijay’s market can be enhanced in Andhra Pradesh and with Ileana, Nanban will find takers.
